The Evolution of Abe Sapien-INKS by *Santolouco
Last month Multiversity Comics invited me and the guys from Brand New Nostalgia to help and promote their art contest “The Evolution of Abe Sapien”.
Originally I had a bit more bubbles around Abe subtly insinuating a DNA code. When I got to color, these elements were stealing to much attention from the main character so I just trim that off.

Iron Demon/Feudal Utrom_Design by *Santolouco
This is something I’ve been wanting to share for a long time. Now that all four issues of Secret History of the Foot Clan are out it can be finally done.
Feudal Utrom AKA Iron Demon concept design. Well I think my intention here is pretty obvious. When the concept of the Iron Demon came up in the first drafts, me and Bobby (Curnow, TMNT editor) agreed it should look like a previous, antique version of the exoskeleton Krang is using on the ongoing title. But once I got to draw it I just couldn’t help to make a homage to the classic - and silly - 80’s cartoon Krang’s robotic bodysuit. The challenge to make that stupid thing to look cool and badass was irresistible to me. Gladly everyone bought the idea and apparently readers are pleased as well. :D
I know most of you people are wondering who this Utrom is. Although in the backstage we have been calling him Krang all along - just because it’s easier this way - I must state that this could be any other Utrom, really. The mystery behind this character’s intentions is something IDW wants to save for future arcs. So we will have to hold that question for a while, ok?

My cover for IDW’S TMNT#23: City Fall-part 2
Written by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz and drawn by me, “City Fall” will focus on the Shredder’s takeover of New York City’s underworld with a new major domo at his side: Leonardo. As the Turtles’ family breaks apart, the series will introduce a number of new and classic characters to the proceedings including some as-yet secret mutants and Purple Dragon leader The Hun.
Issue 23 also includes cool flashbacks drawn by other awesome TMNT artists such as Dan Duncan, Andy Kuhn, Ben Bates and Ross Campbell.
